A belated Merry Christmas to everyone! If you have some left over panettone from Christmas then this is the ideal recipe for you. I have been at the in laws for Christmas for the last 5 days and we had this super yummy French toast for breakfast on Christmas Eve. A warning - this is incredibly filling and very sweet. You will not need to serve any other food with this dish! The recipe is one that Nathan's mum found in a magazine and was adapted to what was in the fridge. Here it is:
Ingredients ~
- panettone slices
- cherry jam
- cottage cheese
- maple syrup
- cinnamon sugar
- French toast mix
- Mix some maple syrup into the cottage cheese to sweeten it up a bit - add to taste.
- Spread half the slices of panettone with jam and the other half with the cottage cheese.
- Sandwich the slices together and dip in the french toast egg mix.
- Cook like normal french toast.
- Serve with cinnamon sugar and maple syrup - Yum!!
